Hi! My name is Rinat and I am a web developer

I was born in the Ural Mountains region of Russia. Math and physics were my favourite subjects in school and later I went to study electronic and systems engineering in the ITMO state university in Saint-Petersburg. Although programming was not a main focus of my course, at some point I found myself very interested in web technologies and started studying and practicing web development with books and tutorials.

In the end of 2010 I landed my first job as a PHP programmer for a small company building a live chat service similar to SnapEngage. There I became familiar with Yii framework and joint its online community. Next summer I got an opportunity to work with Clevertech outsourcing company alongside core Yii team members which I could not refuse. In Clevertech I worked on many different projects and at some point my focus moved from PHP and SQL to JavaScript and UX. Now I am a full stack web developer in Quantenna Communications Inc. developing an advanced cloud solution for Wi-Fi monitoring, analysis and optimization.

Being a software developer and engineer I love to work on projects that help people and make their life easier. As a programmer I like to write clean and readable code with tests and documentation. I believe that software and information technology move us forward and make this world a better place to live.

About This Site

I always wanted to have some home page in the Internet where I can make experiments and share some thoughts. I also like to revamp the CSS and HTML from time to time and apply best techniques and practices in order to keep it up to date. The back end of this site is built on top of PHP and wonderful Yii framework that I have been working with for a very long time, many thanks to Yii team for making it so flexible and powerful. I tend to use SASS with Compass for CSS and no frameworks for HTML so far. The RSS feed is generated with Zend Feed and FeedBurner. I also use Lora and PT Sans fonts by Google.
